WORCESTER – Worcester’s Joseph Petty and two other Central Massachusetts mayors have joined a coalition against a proposed ballot question that would cap rents across the state.

Besides Petty, Leominster Mayor Dean J. Mazzarella and Gardner Mayor Michael J. Nicholson are among a dozen mayors across the state who have joined Housing for Massachusetts, a coalition formed to oppose the proposed ballot question, according to a statement by the coalition.
